00-9001 Visits The Home Of AFSOC
On Tuesday, February 18th 02-4452 departed McGuire AFB for Joint Base Andrews to conduct some routine training. Not far behind it 00-9001 departed and headed south. It’s somewhat unusual to see both aircraft depart in such quick succession. Usually, this denotes a significant event of some sort so this always piques my interest.
Additionally, as you can see in the screenshot below, 02-4452 is sporting the TERRA callsign.
You can also see that despite 4452 seemingly following 9001 down south, it eventually returns to Andrews and then ultimately back to its home base. This is a weekly occurrence and both aircraft have done this in the past.
You’ll also notice that there is another aircraft heading down south from North Carolina. This is one of the elusive C-295Ws allegedly operated by a unit based at Pope Field. As you can see the registration is not confirmed yet but we will use it for now.
22-2042 (the unconfirmed C-295W) and 00-9001 eventually made their way down to, what was initially speculated to be Eglin AFB (Home of C-32Bs 02-5001 and 99-6143), Hurlburt Field. Hurlburt is located southwest of Eglin and is the home of Air Force Special Operations Command or AFSOC.
Unfortunately, nothing that exciting took place. After its arrival, the only thing 00-9001 did was some pattern work on the 20th before departing for New Jersey.
22-2042, on the other hand, is still at Hurlburt at the time of writing. Another Casa from Pope, 13-0501 arrived on the 21st but returned to Pope on the same day.
N757AF Visits Majors

There has been speculation that Donald Trump’s personal 757, N757AF, received modifications at Texas’ Greenville-Majors Airport last week. While the aircraft did spend a day there this past week it is unlikely that any significant modifications were done due to the short nature of the stay. The aircraft arrived from Palm Beach on Wednesday the 19th and was back in Palm Beach on the 21st.

If you are unaware of the significance of Greenville-Majors Airport I suggest reading Big Safari: The US Air Force’s Marriage with Private Acquisition to get a better understanding of what takes place at this airport.
TL;DR The majority of the work done at Majors takes more than a day and a half to complete.
Quality Aviation Heads To Jordan
I’m pretty sure Quality Aviation is just doing contract work for the U.S. State Department but it’s interesting to keep track of these civilian operators of the CASA CN-235’s. If you love a good Antenna Farm this aircraft is a good candidate, have a look for yourself:
Here is their trip starting in North Carolina and ending in Jordan:

You can track the rest of Quality’s Fleet on my website.
This week’s post is a little light due to it being a fairly busy week for myself. Many thanks to SR for the photos of N757AF.
